The Monster Maker (1944)

A scientist infects a concert pianist with acromegaly out of romantic spite. The condition is real, the actor's transformation is not, and the film is entirely uninterested in the difference. Ataraxy write Spanish death-doom that behaves the same way — melodrama played completely straight until it curdles into something sincere. Sixty-two minutes of a man being punished for saying no.
