Carnival of Souls (1962)

A woman drives out of a river and never quite arrives anywhere again. Harvey shot it in three weeks with a church organ and an abandoned pavilion, and it has been leaking ever since. Spectral Voice play like that pavilion sounds at four in the morning — reverb doing the work of architecture, everything a half-step behind where you left it. Both of them understand that the dead do not chase you. They wait, and let you drift.
