Christensen made a documentary and then made a nightmare inside it, which is why Häxan still feels illegal. Witch trials as lecture, medieval fever dream as evidence. Mirror Reaper is a single unbroken hour and twenty-three minutes with a dead man's voice inside it. Two works with the same running length and the same problem: how do you end something that was never structured to stop. You don't. You let the reel run out.
